Where are you located? 701 E. High Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902. Just one block from the historic Court Square, between Park Street and Locust Avenue. Our rental office, however, is located at 2619 Hydraulic Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901. Please call to set up a tour!
Can I apply online? Yes, you can submit applications online via the "APPLY NOW" button at the top of this page. You will then just need to pay the $50 /person application fee. Please contact the office prior to application to ensure that we have an apartment available for you as the application fee is nonrefundable.
What utilities are included? Water, sewer, pest control, trash and recycling. For an all inclusvie option, we have three efficiency apartments that include the power as well.
What are your lease terms? Our standard leases are twelve months. We also offer month to month corporate units.
How can I reserve an apartment at your property? Simply fill out our rental application, submit your application fee and security deposit, and sign the lease. If for some reason your application is not approved, your security deposit is fully refundable.
How much is the application fee? The application fee is a non-refundable $50 fee, for any person 18 years of age or older, that will be residing in the apartment.
How much is your security deposit? The minimum security deposit is $500* for an unfurnished unit and $500* for one of our fully furnished corporate units. Please keep in mind that the deposits can fluctuate depending on how you qualify. *subject to change
What time is move in? Move in is at 4:00 p.m. on the first day of your lease. Please allow enough time to complete some move in paperwork upon your arrival.
In what school district is Tarleton Square located in? We are in the Burnley-Moran Elementary, Walker Upper Elementary, Buford Middle and Charlottesville High School District.
Are the apartments furnished? While the majority of our apartments come unfurnished, we do offer fully furnished apartments that rent on a month to month basis.
Are you wired for Internet? Yes, our apartments are wired for Ting Fiber Internet!
Do you have recycling on the property? Yes, we gladly provide recycling to our residents.
Is there assigned parking? Parking is not assigned.
What are your office hours? Mon - Fri 9 - 6, Sat 10 - 5 and Sunday 1 - 4. Located at the Westgate Clubhouse. Tours by scheduled by appointment only.
When is rent due? Rent is due on the 1st of the month and is considered past due after the close of business on the 5th of the month.
What type of payments do you accept? We accept cashier’s, personal or certified checks, and money orders. With a small convenience fee, we can also accept electronic checks and credit or debit cards. Unfortunatley, no cash, starter, or counter checks will be accepted.
Is there a late fee if I pay my rent after the 5th of the month? Yes, there is a $70 late fee incurred after the close of business on the 5th. As a reminder we do not accept personal checks if your rent is paid after the 5th of the month. All late payments must be made with certified funds.
Can I submit maintenance requests online? Yes, non-emergency maintenance requests may be submitted online via our Residents tab. All emergency maintenance requests should be submitted by calling the main office number and the after-hours answering service will dispatch a technician.
My lease is getting ready to expire. What should I prepare for? Your lease will end at 10:00 a.m. on the last day of your lease. We will send you detailed move out instructions well in advance of your move out day.
How soon do you need to know my plans of renewing or vacating my apartment home? Our lease renewal notice period is 90 days before the end of your lease, and we will contact you about your plans prior to that time.
Do you allow pets? Pets are welcome at Tarleton! We have a 2 pet maximum with no weight limit. Our breed restrictions include purebreds or mixes of Rottweiler, Chow, German Shepard, Doberman, Pitbull, Bullies, Staffordshire Terriers, and Wolfe Hybrids. Ferrits are also prohibited. Vet paperwork stating breed and proof that all shots are up to date are also required.
How much is the pet deposit and is it refundable? The pet deposit is $200 and is refundable less any damage caused by the pet. In addition to the pet deposit, there is a $150 per pet non-refundable pet fee to be paid at move in.
How do I reserve one of the additional storage spaces offered to residents? Simply drop by the office to check out the storage room key to gain access to the storage areas, and then just select an available storage area. You will need to use your own lock to secure the space.
Are you on the city bus line? Yes, directly in front of the building for easy access.
